The regulator determines the direction of the flow in the system and maintains system pressure via an adjustable knob that controls the amount of tension on a pressure spring. When the flow stops, it is diverted through the outlet port and all flow is diverted to the bypass port at virtually no pressure. This regulator design requires a partial bypass to operate.",
